The whole race got rained out of the original route. It’s been raining so much, like never around here before, that the race organizers decided to change the route for safety reasons. Also, they are all overwhelmed with all the rain. Nobody was prepared for something like this! In the evening it was raining so much that the canopy where the kitchen was setup collapsed and nobody had a place to sit and eat!
So we’ll be moving up north straight to Irvinebank, skipping Gunawarra all together. We’ll spend 2 nights in Irvinebank and do a time trials section over there where they have a nice 18 mile loop! It will be nice to be in a dry place for 2 days, with access to real bathrooms and hot showers!
